Creamed Shepherd's Pie Recipe

One pound ground beef
1 large chopped onion
2 stalks chopped celery
4 tbsp. butter
2 cups thinly sliced carrots
2 cups thinly sliced mushrooms
2 beef bouillon cubes
2 tsp. flour
1 cup milk
Salt and pepper to taste
3 cups mashed potatoes

Brown ground beef, one-half of the onions, and celery. Drain grease, rinse, and set aside

Saute the carrots, the remaining onions, and mushrooms in the butter until the onion is translucent. Add the beef bouillon cubes and flour into the mixture and stir quickly to combine. Cook and stir for one minute. Gradually stir in the milk and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Continue to stir and simmer until the mixture thickens. Add the ground beef and mix thoroughly.

Pour mixture into a sprayed casserole dish. Spread the mashed potatoes over the meat and sprinkle with paprika.

Bake at 375º for 15 minutes. Place on broil and brown the potatoes for 1-2 minutes and serve.
