6 eggs
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup evaporated milk

1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Directions:
All ingredients should be at room temperature, especially the eggs for this cake to taste authentic. Do not preheat your oven. Place pan directly into cold oven and then set at 350 degrees. This gives the appropriate crust to the cake.

In a large bowl cream togethre the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. This will take 5 minutes on high. Add one egg at a time and beat one minute after adding each egg. Add flour and milk alternately mixing just until incorporated for each addition.

Pour batter evenly into prepared bundt pan. Bake for 70 minutes and test cake by inserting a sharpe knife in the center. Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes and turn out onto serving platter. Let completely cool before cutting, preferably overnight.

This is as close to my grandmothers cake as I've found. If you do not use the nuts in the cake drop the sour cream as well.
