FILLING:
1 c milk
4 tbsp flour ~ combine milk and flour in jar and shake. Cook until thick then refrigerate.
When ready to finish filling add:
1 c crisco
1 c powdered sugar
2 tsp vanilla
Beat and add more vanilla or sugar as needed.

CAKE:
CREAM together 1/2 cup crisco, 2 cup sugar and 2 eggs. This will be your main bowl.
SIFT together 4 cup flour, 2 tsp baking soda, 1/4 tsp salt, 1 tsp baking powder and 1/2 cup cocoa in separate bowl.
MIX together 1 cup boiling water, 1 tsp vanilla and 1 cup sour milk (add 1 tbsp vinegar to the cup of milk to sour) in separate bowl.

Alternate adding your sifted bowl and the mixed bowl ingredients to the main bowl of creamed ingredients. Drop by tablespoons onto ungreased pan and bake for 8-9 minutes at 400 degrees. When completely cooled, pair up cakes by shape and size. Add icing. Wrap each separately in waxed paper; twist ends closed.
