1/2 c. margarine
2 T. Worcestershire sauce
1-1/4 tsp. seasoned salt
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
1/4 tsp. onion powder
2 c. Corn Chex square cereal
2 c. Rice Chex square cereal
1 c. Cheerios
1-1/2 c. peanuts and pecans
1-1/2 c. small pretzel rods

Directions:

Preheat oven to 275º. Melt the butter in a shallow pan. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic salt (not garlic powder) and onion powder. Add the Corn Chex, Rice Chex, Cheerios, nuts and pretzel rods. Mix until all the pieces are coated with the butter mixture.

Place on a shallow baking pan with sides. Bake for 40 minutes or until all liquid is absorbed and mixture is crunchy, stirring every 10 minutes. Cool on paper towels. Store in an air-tight container.

For me, the salty, buttery smell of homemade Chex mix baking in the oven is one of my favorites of the holiday season. Grandmommy always has this on hand around the holidays. It is addicting and much better than the packaged mix you can buy in the store today.
