2 sticks butter softened
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup hot water
1 cup milk
3 cup flour
1 tsp cream of tartar

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add baking soda to hot water & add to butter and sugar. Then add eggs. Sift flour then remeasure and add cream of tartar. Sift again. Alternate milk and flour to butter, sugar, and egg mixture. Starting and ending with flour.

Bake 360⁰ - 1 hour and 10 minutes. 10 minutes before done, take from oven and brush with melted butter and sprinkle cinnamon & sugar. Put back in oven for 10 minutes.
