3/4 egg whites (usually 5 large eggs, I always measure though)
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. ground almonds
1 c. heavy cream
1 qt. strawberries

Directions:
Directions:
1. preheat oven to 350
2.grease two cake pans and then make a parchment (I use cutrite paper) insert and grease again.
3.whip egg whites 'til stiff
4.add sugar slowly
5. fold in almonds
6. divide into two cake pans and bake 30-35 minutes
7.cool in rack
8. whip heavy cream
8. put half of the whipped cream between layers and add sliced strawberries
9.use pastry bag to decorate the top and decorate with strawberries (and mint leaves, if you have them).

ps. if you really want to 'guild the lily' make a milk glaze to drizzle over top with 10x sugar and either milk (very little) or fresh lemon juice.
