1 c. flour
2 t. baking powder
1/4 t. cream of tartar
1/4 t. sugar
1/4 t. salt 1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter
1 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1/3 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450ºF. Mix dry ingredients. Cut in butter with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cheddar cheese. Add milk; stir until mixture forms soft dough. Place on lightly surface; knead 8-10 times. Pat out dough into 6-inch squares. Cut into 9 squares. Place on a greased baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
