Directions:Sift flour and salt together. Cut in butter. Add milk and egg mixture slowly with a fork until blended. Cut dough into two equal pieces and refrigerate. When chilled, roll out 1/2 of the dough on a greased cookie sheet (must have sides). Bring up sides of the dough to form a rim. Note: Try rolling between floured wax paper so it doesn't stick so much to the rolling pin. Sprinkle corn flakes on dough; then layer sliced apples. Add raisins or nuts if you like them. Sprinkle the apples with the sugar and cinnamon. If apples are sweet only use 3/4 cup sugar, if tart a full cup of sugar. Roll out of the other half of the dough and place over apples, then seals the sides together.
Bake at 400º for 40 minutes or until golden brown.
To make glaze, combine powdered sugar, hot water and vanilla. Drizzle over apple danish while still warm.
This danish can also be frozen before or after you bake it. |

Notes: It is really important to refrigerate and roll the dough between floured wax paper, because the dough is really sticky. Also, I've made it without cornflakes and really can't tell much difference.
