Cake:
1/2 c. Crisco
2 Eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 1/2 c. Sugar
2 oz Red Food Coloring
2 tbls. Coco
1 tsp. Salt
2 c. Flour
1 c. Buttermilk
Mix together 1 tbls. Vinegar and 1 tsp. Soda

Frosting:
1 c. Milk
1/4 c. Flour
1 c. Sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
1 Stick Oleo

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs, food coloring and vanilla.

Add sifted dry ingredients with buttermilk. Beat together. Stir in vinegar and soda mixture - DO NOT BEAT - just fold in.

Bake 30 minutes in 2 - 8" pans.

Frosting:
Cook milk and flour until thick. Add pinch of salt and cool. Mix remaining ingredients and beat at high speed until fluffy. Add first mixture to sugar and crisco mix. Add 1 tsp vanilla, beat on high speed until fluffy.
Garnish - coconut or little red food coloring.
