Not all recipes end up well. Phone calls, college football on TV, emails, and high maintenance family members can break your concentration. We do not want to embarrass anyone, so “anonymous” is being used to protect Barbara Rothschild.

Outside of anonymous’ kitchen is a large, flat rock that has a special meaning for her loving and doting family. Burned, smoking, and even partially melted pots and pans are rushed outside and put on this rock. Some rocks have moss on them, some have a patina that indicates their long geologic age, but anonymous’ rock has a slight cast of aluminum from partially melted cook wear.

Not all cooking is successful, so know where your emergency rock is.
