1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. chopped, pitted prunes or 1 c. raisins
1 c. raw, grated apple
1 c. currants, white raisins, or grated raw carrots
2 c. bread crumbs (white or wheat)
1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter with sugar. Add beaten eggs and fruit. Add dry ingredients with spices. Put in greased mold 2/3 full.( A coffee can could be used for a mold.) Place on rack in Dutch oven. Keep rack covered with water. Cover top of mold loosely with foil. Keep on medium heat steaming for 3 hours or until toothpick is clean. Slice and serve with lemon sauce.
