1/4 c. Oleo
2 eggs
1 C Soft Bread Crumbs
1 lb. hamburger
3/4 lb. ground pork
3/4 c. ground veal
2 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/3 c flour
2 1/2 tsp salt
2 c. water
3/4 c. chopped onion
1 c. milk
1 T sugar
1 tsp allspice
1/3 c. oleo
2 tsp sugar
1/8 tsp pepper
1 1/2 c cream

Directions:
Directions:
Melt 1/4 c. oleo n a large skillet. Add onion and cook over medium heat until tender. Beat eggs and milk togther. Add bread crumbs and let stand a few minutes. Add ground meats, cooked onion, 1 T sugar, 2/12 tsp salt, alspice, nutmeg and mix well. Shape into small balls 1 inch in diameter. Brown meatballs in 1/4 c. of oleao. Remove meat and stir in the flour, 2 tsp sugar, 2 1/2 tsp salt and pepper to the drippings. Gradually add water and cream. Stir until thick. Add meat ball and cook quickly. Can be frozen for a month.

This was a special treat on occasional Monday nights. The For You Shoppe was closed on Monday so Mom cooked special dinners on Mondays.
