Pastry crust for 9" pie crust

Filling:
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
dash of salt
6 c. thinly sliced pared tart apples

Topping:
1 c. flour
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter/margarine

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425º F.

Mix sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt. Stir in apples. Turn into greased 9" pie plate. Mix topping ingredients until crumbly. Spread topping over apple mixture. Bake 50 minutes. Cover topping with aluminum foil during last 10 minutes of baking.

If you don't have a pie crust, you can make this more like an apple crisp. Use an 8x8x2" casserole. Bake at 375 degrees.
