1 c. peanut butter
1 stick butter/margarine
1 c. chocolate chips
1 12 oz. box of Crispex or any crisp Chex-type cereal
2 c. confectioner's cereal

Directions:
Directions:
Melt together the peanut butter, butter and chocolate chips until smooth.
Place cereal into a big bowl. Pour chocolate mixture on top of the cereal and mix together quickly. Into a CLEAN brown paper grocery bag, put 1 c. of the confectioner's sugar. Pour in the cereal mixture. Put another cup of the confectioner's sugar on top of the cereal mixture in the bag. Roll the top of the bag down and SHAKE. You may need to add more confectioner's sugar to the bag. The cereal pieces should all be coated white with confectioner's sugar. Pour out onto a large baking sheet to cool. Store in an airtight container.

I believe this was named puppy chow because of the white on the cereal looked like the Purina puppy chow in the bags that had a white coating.
This was and is always a hit. Yummy!
