1 (9 – inch) crumb crust chilled
1 can Eagle Brand milk
½ c. lemon juice
Few drops yellow food coloring
2 to 3 tsp. grated lemon peel
3 egg whites
¼ tsp. cream of tartar
Whipped topping (opt.)

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl combine sweetened milk with lemon juice, food coloring, and grated lemon peel – Blend well.

In a small bowl beat egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff, but not dry.

Gently fold into lemon mixture.

Pour into pie crust.

Chill

Serve with whipped topping (opt.)

*This is the pie that Mrs. Hinnant made and it is probably the first pie Wallace asked me to make for him. He loved lemon pies, lemon cookies, and lemonade.
