4 c. water
1 c. quick cooking grits, uncooked
2 c. sharp cheddar
¼ c. milk
2 tbsp. butter or margarine
2 tsp. Worcestershire
1 ½ . tsp. garlic salt
2 eggs, beaten
1 lb. hot bulk pork sausage, cooked and drained
1 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Boil water, stir in grits, reduce heat and cook 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add 2 c. cheese and next four ingredients, stirring until cheese melts. Stir in small amount grits mixture into beaten egg. Add to remaining grits mixture, stirring constantly. Layer ½ grits mixture, sausage, other ½ grits mixture. Cover and chill 8 hours. To bake: stand at room temperature for 30 minutes, bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese and bake 5 minutes.

A nice change for a breakfast casserole. I have made it in the morning and just baked it, but it is easy to have it ready ahead of time and just stick it in the oven when you have overnight guests.
