1 cup corn meal
1/2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
2 Tablespoons sugar
1 cup milt
1 egg
(add 1/4 tsp baking soda if you are using buttermilk)

Directions:
Directions:
1. Pour cooking oil into a hot cast iron skillet and place into the oven.
2. Heat the oven to 450º for about 5 minutes.
3. Mix all ingredients well and pour into hot skillet.
4. Bake for about 15-20 minutes until lightly brown on the top.
