1 peck green tomatoes
2 lemons chopped
4 lbs. brown sugar
2 lbs. seedless raisins
2 tbsp. salt
2 tbsp. cloves
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. mace
1 cup vinegar

Directions:
Directions:
Scald and peel tomatoes and put through food chopper using coarse blade. Add lemons, sugar, raisins, vinegar and spices. Bring to a boil. Cook slowly for 1 hours. Fill jars one at a time and seal. Can be made in smaller amount for mincemeat pies.

Mom was doing laundry on her washboard in the old farm kitchen. She had made an early supper and the kitchen smelled of fresh clean clothes and mincemeat pie."
