Ingredients: brownies: 1 c semi-sweet choc chips (we prefer the mini size chips) 1/2 c margarine or butter softened 1 c sugar 3 eggs 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 1/4 c flour 1/4 tsp baking soda 3/4 c chopped walnuts, optional cookie dough layer: 1/2 c butter or margarine softened 1/4 c sugar 1/2 c packed brown sugar 3 T milk 1 tsp vanilla 1 c flour 1 c semi-sweet choc chips

Directions:Brownies: Melt one cup choc chips (Can use microwave). Cool slightly. Cream butter and sugar in separate mixing bowl. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix well. Stir in melted chocolate chips. Combine flour and baking soda and add to batter. Stir in walnuts. Spread into greased 9x13 pan and bake at 350º for 15-20 min or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool. Cookie dough layer: In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. Add milk and vanilla. Mix in. Gradually add flour until mixed in. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by spoonfuls onto cooled brownies and spread over top. Can use wet spatula to spread dough mixture more easily. Cut into squares. Number served depends on size of squares cut. |
