1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup salad oil
1 cup powdered sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
4 cups flour
4 T. flour, heaping
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together butter and sugar then add salad oil and powdered sugar. Then add eggs one at a time along with vanilla. In a separate bowl add all the dry ingredients together.
Add dry ingredients to wet and mix well. refrigerate for one (1) hour. Form small balls in the palm of your hand (approximate. size of walnut). Place on cookie sheet and flatten with base of buttered glass dipped in sugar. For Christmas cookies use red and green sugar.

Bake in 350 oven for 10-12 minutes.
IMPORTANT: remove from pan onto foil sheets to cool. Do not stack until cool. Place in cookie tins with tight lids to keep crisp.
