3/4 c. vinegar
1 3/4 c. water
1 1/4 c. sugar, divided
4 tsp. cinnamon, divided
2 c. enriched flour, sifted

3/4 c. milk
4 T. butter

Directions:
Directions:
In a small saucepan combine vinegar, water, 1 1/2 c. sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon. Stir over low heat until sugar dissolves. Cook over medium heat 20 minutes to make a syrup, and set aside.
Mix and sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the shortening. Stir in the milk, using a fork, until a soft dough forms. Lightly flour your board and roll dough out into a rectangle 1/4" thick.
Sprinkle remaining sugar and cinnamon over the surface and dot with two tablespoons of the butter. Roll up starting from one of the longer sides and cut into generous 1-inch slices. Place cut side up in a deep baking dish, close together. Dot with the rest of the butter and pour the hot vinegar syrup mix over. Bake at 375º for 30-40 minutes. Serve hot with heavy cream if you like.
