2 Tablespoons of fat
1 pound ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1 6-ounce can tomato paste
1 small green pepper
1 can tomatoes,(equivalent to 2 1/2 cups)
1/2 cup water
1 bay leaf
2 tablespoons sugar 1 clove garlic, mashed
2 teaspoons salt
Boiling water
1 8-ounce package spaghetti
grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:

Heat fat in a large skillet. Brown meat. Break into small pieces with the side of a spoon as it browns Add onion and green pepper, cook about 10 minutes or until tender. Stir in next 5 ingredients. Cover and simmer about an hour, stirring occasionally. Mix garlic and 1 teaspoon of salt. Stir into sauce. Add remaining salt to water. Cook spaghetti according to package directions.
