1/4 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons cornstarch
1/3 cup water
1/3 cup grenadine syrup
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup sliced almonds, toasted
1 (9-inch) pastry shell, baked and cooled
1 small package instant vanilla pudding mix
1 1/4 cups milk (whole or 2%)
1 cup sour cream
1 pint Florida strawberries, washed and sliced

Step 1:
Combine sugar and cornstarch. Blend in water, grenadine and lemon juice. cook and stir over medium heat until mixture thickens and bubbles. Cover and cool at room temperature. Do not chill.

Step 2:
Sprinkle almonds on bottom of pastry shell. Set aside. In a small bowl, combine pudding mix, milk and sour cream. Beat at lowest speed of mixer for 1 minute. Immediately pour over almonds in pastry shell. Spread 1/3 of glaze atop filling.

Step 3:
Arrange the sliced strawberries atop in a circular pattern beginning next to crust. Spoon remaining glaze over berries. Chill for at least hour before serving.
