2 T. butter
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 - 15 oz. cans stewed Italian tomatoes, drained and pureed (save juice)
1 cup whipping cream
1 box mini penne or regular penne pasta
5 Italian hot spicy sausage links
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
fresh basil. chopped

Saute butter and garlic in 2 quart sauce pan. Drain juice from tomatoes and save. Then puree tomatoes in blender and add to butter/garlic. Bring to boil over medium high heat. Reduce heat, add whipping cream and simmer for 5 minutes. You can add some of the tomato juice if you need to thin the sauce. Cook Italian sausage links, slice and add to sauce. You can use bulk sausage if desired. Cook box of pasta according to package directions. Mix cooked pasta with sauce and pour into serving bowl. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and garnish with chopped fresh basil.
For low fat option, substitute chicken for sausage.
