Personal Notes:
*This cake is extremely moist and because of the almond flavor it has an intriguing flavor. I found this recipe in my electric co-op cookbook and it has been a hit every time I have made it. Jenni shared this recipe with everyone when she worked at Barkleys because they all liked it so well.
I also, took this cake to the Hinnant reunion at the Double B Ranch for the 2009 reunion and Sam, son of Bob and Mary Beth Hinnant, kept coming back all afternoon for more cake until he finally stood over the cake plate and finished it off. I may have to send him the recipe for a graduation gift, but I think I’ll just keep taking it every year to the reunion.
