3/4 lb Brussels sprouts
2 T butter
1 medium onion, finely minced
1 C white wine
1 pint whipping cream or half and half
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Wash sprouts and remove small outer leaves and excess stems. Cook in boiling water till crisp tender, 5-8 minutes. Drain and immerse in cold water to stop cooking. Drain and set aside.

At serving time, saute onion in butter till soft but not brown. Add wine and cook down by half. Add cream and Brussels sprouts and cook over med high heat till sauce begins to thicken. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

This is a wonderful dish...and fancy enough for a holiday meal...especially since fall's the time fresh sprouts on the stalk are in the stores. Frozen sprouts will work, too...but try and get the baby ones.
