5 medium white turnips
1 1/3 C whipping cream or half and half
1 large clove of garlic
3/4 t salt (sometimes I use truffle salt)
1/8 t pepper
1 C grated Swiss cheese
1/4 C grated Parmesan

Directions:
Directions:
Peel turnips and discard any woody parts. Slice thinly with food processor or mandolin. Boil in water to cover about 2-3 minutes. Drain immediately and immerse in cold water to stop cooking. Drain well and arrange in thin layer in greased casserole dish. In blender, combine garlic, cream, salt, and pepper...blend well. Pour over turnips and top with cheeses. Bake at 400 degrees 25-30 miutes till bubbly and lightly brown.

An outstanding vegetable dish...one of my sons ate it at holidays for years and thought it was scalloped potatoes!!!!!!! So don't hesitate to offer it to folks who would turn up their nose at turnips...even children like it.
