1 1/2 cup hot water
1 egg (room temp)
1/2 cup oil
1/4 cup sugar
4 cups flour
1/2 cup instant mashed potato flakes
1/2 Tbsp salt
1 packet dry yeast

FILLING:

1 stick butter
1/2 cup cocoa (or 2 Tbsp cinnamon for cinnamon babka)
1 cup sugar

Directions:
Place all ingredients in bread machine in order given. Make sure the yeast does not touch either the liquid or the salt. Use DOUGH setting on bread machine.

Divide dough in half. Roll out each into a rectangle as thinly as possible (10x14 or thinner) on a well buttered surface.

Spread each rectangle with 4 Tbsp butter. Sprinkle each evenly with 1/4 cup cocoa (or 1 Tbsp cinnamon for cinnamon babka)) and 1/2 cup sugar.

Roll each rectangle up, jelly-roll fashion, stretching dough as you proceed. Seal ends, Lightly butter.

Let rise in warm place until about doubled in size. Delicately brush with beaten egg yolk.

Bake in 350 degree oven for about an hour or until light golden brown.
