6 slices of white bread (toasted)
1 cup of Zouka's homemade syrup (see recipe)
1/2 cup finely chopped pistachio

The Cream Filling Ingredients:

1 qt heavy Cream
1 cup whole milk
1 cup cornstarch
1 cup sugar
2 tsp rose water



Directions:
Directions:
In a large pot, add all the cream filling ingredients and whisk all together. Over medium heat, stir the mixture with a wooden spoon until dissolved. Keep stirring until the mixture is thickened to a pudding like consistency. Use a 9 x 13 Pyrex glass baking tray. Pour some syrup in the bottom, place the toasted bread and line the tray over the syrup. Add more syrup over the toasted bread. Pour all the cream filling to cover the bread. Refrigerate until cooled and pudding is set. (3 hours minimum or overnight is best.) Add ground pistachios generously over the top. Cut into square pieces and you can add more syrup if you like when serving.
