1 pkg (16 oz) cake mix : white or angel food
1 pkg (3 oz) orange gelatin ( any flavor OK)
3/4 c. boiling water
1/2 c. cold water
2 c. thawed, frozen whipped topping

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Pour batter into ungreased 9 x13 baking pan. Bake 35-40 minutes. Cool 45 minutes ( do not remove cake from pan.)
Use a metal skewer to poke holes in cake 1 1/2 inches deep and 1/2 inch apart. Dissolve gelatin into boiling water. Stir in cold water. Slowly pour gelatin evenly over cake. Refrigerate 3 hours. Frost cake with whipped topping. Cut into squares and serve.

This refrigerators cake has pretty, colored stripes down the sides of each slice. Very light and refreshing! We often served it at family shower parties.
