Ingredients:
I whole turkey
Dressing (your favorite)
Butter
Salt
Pepper
Aluminum Foil

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Remove the gizzard packet and neck from inside cavity of the turkey. Rinse turkey. Place turkey breast-side up in foil lined pan. Stuff cavities with your favorite dressing. Dot the top of turkey with pats of butter. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add about 1 cup of water. Cover tightly with aluminum foil. Place in preheated oven and cook for 4-6 hours (time varies according to size of turkey.) Remove turkey from oven. Remove the foil cover. Turkey is done if the legs move easily when touched. If turkey is not as browned as you like it, place back in oven for about 30 minutes. (You don't usually have to do this.)

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
I remember every Thanksgiving Mom would cook the turkey and Aunt Janet's family and Grandma would come over for Thanksgiving dinner. Grandma's dog, Lady, would run circles around the kitchen and living room as soon as she came in because she loved turkey!
