2 lb. pkg. of hash browns, thawed (not the shredded kind)
1/2 c. melted butter or margarine
1 can mushroom soup
(May also add an additional can of mushroom or chicken soup)
2 tbsp. dried onion flakes
1 12 oz. container sour cream
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. salt
2 c. shredded cheddar or American cheese

Topping:
2 c. crushed cornflakes
1/4 c. melted butter or margarine
Mix together for topping

Directions:
Mix ingredients together and put in a 9x13 sprayed pan. Sprinkle on topping mixture. Cover with foil and bake at 350º for 1/2 hr. Remove cover and continue baking for another 1/2 hr. This dish may be made ahead of time and refrigerated, but will need a longer baking time, approximately 1 1/2 hrs. Check center to determine when it is completely cooked.
