6 c. water
5 stalks celery, chopped
1 lge. onion, chopped
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 1/2 c. uncooked elbow macaroni
2 cans (14.5 oz. ea) diced tomatoes
1 can (10 3/4 oz.) tomato soup
1/4 tsp. baking soda
3 tbsp. + 2 tsp. chicken base
1 1/2 c. whipping cream (I use fat free half and half)

In skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef and half of the onions. Drain. In a large kettle combine water with celery and the chopped onion and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Add diced tomatoes, tomato soup, hamburger, and chicken base to the kettle. Add baking powder and stir, then add whipping cream. Cook over low heat for 15 minutes, stirring frequently. Add macaroni and continue cooking for 10-15 minutes until macaroni is tender.
