1 c. fresh blueberries
2 tbsp. flour
6 tbsp. softened butter
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. lemon zest
3 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 c. milk or buttermilk
juice of one lemon
1 c. confectioner's sugar

Grease and flour a 5" x 8" standard loaf pan and set aside. Preheat oven to 350º. Sort and wash blueberries and drain well. Toss them in small bowl with 2 tbsp of flour and set aside. In large bowl cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add lemon zest and lemon juice. Beat in eggs, one at a time. In a second bowl whisk together 1 1/2 cups flour, baking powder and salt. Alternately add dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mix just until the batter is smooth. Gently fold in the blueberries. Spoon the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 45-55 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out dry. If the top browns too quickly, cover loosely with foil for last 15 minutes of baking. Remove the loaf pan from oven and cool 10 minutes, then remove loaf from pan and finish cooling on rack.

To make the lemon glaze, mix lemon juice and confectioner's sugar in a bowl and beat until smooth. While bread is still warm, drizzle the glaze over the loaf, letting it run down the sides. Makes 8 large slices.
