Ingredients:
Ingredients:
Box (12 pieces) of uncooked oven ready lasagna (you do not cook the lasagna, pieces are placed in the pan as is)
1 jar, 28 oz spaghetti sauce (or make my recipe on page 100)
1 pound ground beef (not needed if you use my recipe since it is made with beef)
1, 8 oz can of tomato sauce
1 3/4 cups (15 oz) low-fat ricotta cheese
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
4 cups (16 oz) shredded low-fat mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375° F. Fry meat in large skillet until browned. Drain and stir in spaghetti sauce and tomato sauce to make meat sauce. In small bowl, stir together ricotta cheese, egg, basil and oregano.

Spread 3/4 cup meat sauce in 13x9x2 inch dish. Place 3 pieces pasta crosswise over sauce, they should not overlap. Spread 2/3 cup ricotta mixture over pasta; spread 3/4 cup meat sauce over ricotta, covering pasta completely. Sprinkle with 1 cup mozzarella cheese. Repeat steps 2 and 3 TWO more times. Top with remaining 3 pasta pieces. Spread remaining meat sauce completely over pasta and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan Cheese. Cover with foil and bake 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from oven and let rest for five minutes before cutting. Serve with additional sauce on the side.Serves 8.

Personal Notes:
For years I tried to make a good lasagna and couldn’t get it right. Then I tried the recipe from the back of an oven ready lasagna box. Who would have thought this turned out to be the best recipe for me?
