1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
4 c. sifted flour
1/4 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 tsp. soda

Directions:
Directions:
Cut shortening into flour and add salt; put aside. In separate bowl, combine eggs and sugar and beat well. Add milk, vanilla and soda to egg/sugar mixture and beat well. Add liquid mixture to flour mixture and mix well; chill thoroughly (overnight is best) covered with wax paper to keep from drying out on top. Roll out 1/4" thick, using a small amount of dough at a time, and cut with cutters. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets in 400 degree oven for 10-12 minutes. Cookies do not brown but will get brown around edge if over baked. Frost with cookie glaze icing.
