2 large heads red leaf lettuce, or equivalent greens (we like romaine and spinach)
2 cups Craisins
10 - 12 pieces bacon, crumbled
2 cups mozzerella, shredded
1 cup slivered or sliced almonds, sugared
1/2 cup sugar

Dressing:
1/2 cup red onion, minced
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. dry mustard
1 cup vegetable oil

Directions:

Make the dressing a day ahead if possible. Blend it in the blender so there are not little pieces of onion.
Mix slivered or sliced almonds in skillet with 1/2 cup sugar. Stir constantly over medium heat until nuts are coated, then spread on a plate to cool. Store covered until ready to use.
For salad, mix ingredients in large salad bowl. Toss with the desired amount of dressing.

I got this recipe from a friend who calls it Salad de Tour after it toured around her sister-in-law's neighborhood. I can see why. Everytime I make it I get requests for the recipe. To make it a meal you can add a few chicken breasts cooked and shredded or cubed.
