1 scant cup sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
1 egg unbeaten
1 c. milk
1-1/2 c. flour, unsifted
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and beat well. Combine and sprinkle on top of cake: 4 Tbsp. sugar, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 c. nuts. Let stand 20 minutes. (This is not mandatory as I never let it sit.) Bake 350º for 40-45 minutes. Serve warm. Delicious.

Sunday morning breakfast tradition from the Clyde Goering household is coffee cake or cinnamon rolls with bananas sliced into orange juice. We have continued this tradition at our house and this has become one of our favorite coffee cakes. It is a recipe given to me by my mother-in-law, Dolores Miller.
