8 Large green cabbage leaves, boiled in salt water
1 lb. Ground beef
1/2 c. Finely chopped onion
3/4 c. Rice
1 tsp. Salt
1/8 tsp. Pepper
1 tbsp. Minced garlic
1/2 c. Chopped onion
1/2 tsp. Oregano
3/4 tsp. Basil leaves - crushed
2 Eggs
1 can (1 lb.) Tomato sauce
3/4 c. Water
2 tbsp. Brown sugar
2 tbsp. Vinegar
1 tbsp. Corn starch

Drop cabbage leaves into boiling water for 5 minutes. Drain leaves. Cook beef, garlic, onions, salt and pepper. Drain off grease. In a large bowl combine beef mixture, oregano, rice, basil and eggs. Preheat oven to 375º. Blend tomato sauce, water, brown sugar, vinegar and corn starch. Spoon beef mixture onto cabbage leaves and roll up leaves, holding them closed with tooth picks. Place rolls in baking dish, pour tomato mixture over rolls and cover dish with foil. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes.
