2 c flour
1 T baking powder
1 1/2 tsp dried dill weed
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
4 T butter, chilled & cut into small pieces
1/ 1/2 c diced ham
4 oz (1 c) finely shredded cheddar cheese
2 eggs
1/2 c buttermilk
1 T butter, melted

Preheat oven to 400º.
In large bowl, whisk together dry ingredients. Using pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in ham & cheese. Make well in center.
In small bowl, whisk together eggs & buttermilk. Pour into dry ingredients. Mix with fork until dough forms a ball.
Gather dough into a ball. Turn out onto floured surface and knead until smooth, about 10 times. Divide dough in half. Pat each half into a 6 1/2-inch round, about 3/4 inch thick. Place each round on parchment-lined baking sheet. Score each round into 6 wedges, cutting about 1/3 through the dough. Brush with melted butter.
Bake until lightly browned, about 20-25 minutes. Cut apart along score lines. Serve warm.
