1 tbls sugar
1 lemon, squeezed
1 tbls lemon peel zest
1 cup water

Combine the strawberries, sugar, lemon juice and lemon zest in a large saucepan
Set over medium heat and bring to a boil, stirring
Boil for 3 minutes
Pour the lightly thickened juices over extra side strawberries stir and pour over hot waffles
