4 medium sized pears or apples, peeled, cored and sliced.
1 tsp cinnamon. 1/4 tsp nutmeg. 1 tsp lemon juice. 1/2 c water. 1 c sugar. 3/4 c flour. 1/2 c butter or margarine.

Directions:
Directions:
Place pears or apples in a greased 8 inch baking pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice and water. Mix lightly. In a medium bowl mix sugar and flour. Using a pastry blender, cut in butter until mix resembles coarse crumbles. Evenly scatter crumbs over mixture. Bake at 350 until fruit is tender and crust is lightly browned - about 1 hour. Top with ice cream or whipped cream.
