Ingredients:  
1 fresh or frozen 9 inch pie crust or 2 smaller crusts
Crumbs:
1/2 c. + 2 T. Flour
1/2 c. Brown sugar
1/2 c. Sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. (1 stick) margarine

Filling:
5 Cartland apples peeled and thinly sliced
1 T. Lemon juice
1/2 c. Sugar
3 T. Flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.
Prebake the pie crusts for 10-15 minutes.
Raise oven temperature to 450º.
To prepare crumb topping combine all ingredients to form course crumbs. Set aside.
To prepare apple filling mix apple slices with remaining ingredients till well coated.
Layer apple slices into prepared pie crusts staggering the slices so that they tower towards the center. Pat crumbs onto apples to form top crust.
Place pie in large pan or on baking sheet to catch drips. Bake for 15 minutes on 450 then lower to 350 and bake additional 45 minutes.
