Directions:
Cook raisins, sugar, water, and salt over slow heat till quite thick. Cool till lukewarm (if mixture is too hot the sour cream will curdle). Stir flour, beaten egg yolks, sour cream, and vanilla into raisin mixture. Pour into pie shell and sprinkle top with walnuts. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes, then 350 till filling is firm, about 40-45 minutes more. Cool slightly and pile meringue on top...brown in oven. Or top with whipped cream if you prefer.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Sour cream and raisin pie was the signature dessert at the Trail Restaurant in Cheyenne, Wy. in the 60's. The back room at the Trail was a very elegant "dinner out" restaurant...behind the cowboy bar up front. The tourists probably never knew it was there! We ended many wonderful dinners with this pie.
