Pop whatever amount of popcorn you want in stove top popper. (no microwave popcorn) Put popcorn in a large bowl. Melt 1 stick butter and pour over popcorn in two to three waves to get the popcorn well covered in butter. Salt to taste.
Then what we like is to sprinkle popcorn in two to three waves with parmesan cheese and mix well. You can also add any flavor of Hidden Valley dry dip packets, but use sparingly. For a sweet and salty taste add peanut M&M's to the popcorn.
