Chocolate Sauce:
2 T butter
3/4 c sugar
1 square chocolate 1 oz
1/2 t salt
1 2/3 c water

Batter:
2 T butter
1 square chocolate 1 oz
3/4 c sugar
1/2 c milk
2 t vanilla
1 c sifted flour
1 t baking powder
1/2 t salt
1/2 c cut up nuts

Directions:

SAUCE:
Combine all ingredients in 8 inch square pan. Place over low heat and stir until chocolate is melted.


BATTER:
Melt butter and chocolate over boiling water. Stir in sugar, milk and vanilla. Remove from heat. Add sifted dry ingredients and nuts. Heat until smooth. Drop large spoonfuls of batter on top of chocolate sauce. Bake in a 350º 40-45 minutes Spoon into serving dishes. Serve warm with cool whip.
