4 or 5 c. Plain Flour
1 c. White Sugar ,
3/4 c. Molasses ,
1 c. Crisco
2 Eggs
1 tsp. Salt
2 tsp. Baking Soda
2 tsp. Cinnamon
Buttermilk as needed
Apple Butter

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all dry ingredients together. Add Crisco and mix. Add eggs and molasses. Add buttermilk if needed. Form the mixture into eight or nine portions. Prepare 9 in. cake pans by greasing pan with Crisco and placing parchment paper in bottom. Then place portion of cake batter in pan and pat until it covers the bottom. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 350°. Let cool and remove from pan. Use apple butter between layers.
