Directions: |
Directions:In large soup or stew pot cover ham and bone with water and low boil for 2 -3 hours until meat falls off bone. Remove bones and any excess fat leaving meat and stock. Add onion, potatoes, beans, pepperoni. Add 2 pouches of the Goya seasoning. It comes in a box and you just need 2 of the pouches. This can be found in the Spanish food section of most grocery stores. The key to this seasoning is it contains Saffron. If you cant find it you can use Saffron and season to taste. Then add the Badia complete seasoning (found in same section of grocery store) and salt and pepper to taste. Simmer another hour or so until everything is tender. |

Notes: This was my moms southern version of classic Garbanzo bean soup. It is also my favorite thing to do with what is left of a holiday ham. On a cold day cooking all day makes the house smell so good. We eat this as a meal with some toasted Cuban bread.
