1 small pkg. dry pitted dates
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. boiling water
2 tblsp. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Combine dates, salt and baking soda. Pour boiling water over dates. Cool. In seperate bowl, cream butter, sugar and eggs. Add cooled date mixture, flour and vanilla. Stir in walnuts. Pour into loaf pans. Bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours.
