1 lb seedless raisins
2 cups pecans
6 cups walnuts
1 lb cherries
1 lb dates
2/3 cup mixed glazed fruit
1 lb sultana raisins

¾ cup butter
3 cups sugar
8 eggs separated
¾ cup molasses
¾ cup rum or gin
1 ½ tsp soda dissolved in 1 tbsp boiling water

** 1 tin of pineapple chunks may be added.

3 cups flour
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 tbsp cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Put first 7 ingredients with part of flour. Beat butter & sugar together. Beat egg yolks & add to creamed mixture. Add this tofruits & nuts. Mix flour & spices together well. Then add molasses, rum, soda,& flour with spices. Mix together well. Add beaten egg whites last of all & mix well. Pour into cake pans, bottom greased, then lined with brown paper also well greased. Bake at 300 degrees for 2 hours or until done. Put on rack to cool and store in cold place
